Aral Sea is a production company founded in 2019 by filmmaker and creative producer Pauline Blanchet, whose work spans award-winning documentaries, narrative films, and experimental media. Based in the UK, Aral Sea develops and produces independent projects that challenge dominant narratives, amplify underrepresented voices, and experiment with form.

Our Focus

We specialise in early-stage project development—working closely with filmmakers, researchers, and artists to shape ideas into compelling, coherent works ready for production or pitching. From narrative treatments to archive-based documentaries and concept-driven short films, we prioritise rigorous development processes that strengthen both the creative vision and the production structure of each project.

We also oversee all stages of production and post-production, often working across multiple formats—from long-term observational documentaries to short-form visual research and branded content. Every project is treated as a unique proposition with its own rhythm, needs, and potential audiences.
